Rice

In the upper reaches of the Nenjiang River in Qiqihar, we collaborate with local farmers to cultivate green, organic rice with a floral fragrance, harvested just once a year. The entire processing time, from husking to production, is completed within 21 days.

Qu

We cultivate high-quality strains of Qu ourselves, producing our own rice flour fermentation starter without adding wheat bran or other ingredients that could introduce off-flavors. The sourcing of yeast strains and raw materials is strictly regulated to ensure both safety and quality.

Water

Using mountain spring water sourced near the distillery area, filtered through reverse osmosis and ceramic ultrafiltration equipment, the water is odorless, free from harmful substances, and retains beneficial trace elements that promote human health.

Our Rice Liquor Characteristic
Crafted from pure grains, the liquor is made using traditional techniques for Qu production, fermentation, and distillation, with no additives involved. It is aged for several years to achieve a genuine vintage spirit. This exceptional original mash liquor boasts excellent quality and a pure taste. Due to the complexity of the brewing process and the lengthy production cycle, it is increasingly precious.

Using ancestral handcraft methods, we strive to produce high-quality, authentic spirits that retain their original flavor and color. By combining traditional techniques with specialized brewing equipment, we have revived the production of fragrant rice spirits, using only premium clay jars for storage. For over a decade, we have focused solely on brewing without selling, allowing our spirits to age naturally and develop complexity and aroma over time.

Our Rice Wine Characteristic
Pearl Red Rice wine is one of China's most oldest yellow rice wines, crafted using the intangible cultural heritage technique of "Xingning Pearl Red Brewing." With a long history, its traditional handmade process is both ancient and meticulous. Legend has it that during the Ming Dynasty's Zhengde period, the magistrate of Xingning, Zhu Zhishan, invited skilled local brewers to establish the "Pearl Red Distillery," naming it "Pearl Red." Since then, this fine wine has been passed down through generations, becoming a staple at various banquets and an essential drink for postpartum recovery, eventually recognized as a royal tribute wine during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty.

ABOUT US
The Legacy of Pearl Red.

The name "Pearl Red" was first immortalized by the Tang Dynasty (618 to 907) poet Li He in his poem “Jiang Jin Jiu.” He beautifully describes "a rich amber liquor, trickling drop by drop from a tiny wooden vat, each gleaming red like pearls, into a bell-shaped glass goblet" portraying Pearl Red wine as a luxurious and rare beverage of its time. This representation was further affirmed in the "Poetry Talks Collection" compiled by Song Dynasty (960 to 1279) lyricist Ruan Yue. In its 49th chapter under the food and drink section, Ruan Yue elaborates on the prestige of various wines, specifically mentioning the 'pearl red' as an exemplar of esteemed wines, known for its unique color and quality across Guangdong and Fujian Province.

By the Ming Dynasty (1368 to 1644), particularly during the Jiajing period, Pearl Red had ascended to the esteemed status of a royal tribute wine. Historical records, such as the "Memorandum of Thanks for the Gift of New Year's Eve Wine," detail how on the eve of the fourteenth year of Jiajing, Emperor Jiajing bestowed two bottles of "Pearl Red" wine upon Xia Yan, the Minister of Rites, showcasing its venerated status and ceremonial significance during royal occasions.
