Our Winery & Distillery - Pearl Red

 High Seismic Resistance

For wineries, the storage areas for wine jars and vats are among the most critical assets of the company and also the most vulnerable in the event of an earthquake. Preventing wine from being accidentally destroyed by an earthquake and ensuring safe production are crucial tasks. Pearl Red conducted numerous experiments and concluded that ceramic vats could easily collide with each other or shatter upon impact with the ground during earthquakes exceeding a magnitude of 6.49. Pearl Red Sincerity Wine City (Pearl Red's new winery) has upgraded the seismic resistance of the vat and jar storage areas to level 7 or higher, implementing various measures to prevent seismic damage.

                             Special Design

Meeting the process requirements, the base wine clay vessel storage area at Pearl Red Sincerity Wine City is built to a 100-year safety evaluation standard (6.49 magnitude), capable of withstanding a level 7 earthquake. For the aged wine clay vessel storage area, specifically designed for storing aged base wines, a special 'seismic isolation' design is employed, further enhancing its seismic resistance to withstand an equivalent level 8 earthquake, making it the highest-rated structure within Pearl Red Sincerity Wine City.

Pearl Red has invited Oyana Company, Guangzhou University, and professional seismic isolator manufacturers to jointly design and install seismic isolators for the aged wine ceramic vat storage area. The clay vessels and the space between them are secured using seismic isolator devices, providing excellent seismic resistance. The steel connectors of the isolators are protected with hot-dip galvanizing and anti-corrosion paint. The isolators' outer protective layer is 10mm thick, and each isolator has passed inspection by Guangzhou University and the isolator manufacturer, meeting the 100-year design standard.
